As the year wrapped up, the Film & Television category on Android saw interesting user engagement and download trends across Europe. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a snapshot of the top applications' performance in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Disney+ experienced a steady increase in revenue, peaking at approximately $2.9M during the Christmas week. Downloads also saw an uptick, with a significant leap to 421K in the last week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated, ultimately reaching over 11M by year-end.
Crunchyroll displayed a more variable revenue trend, with a high of $608K in late November. Downloads dipped mid-quarter but rebounded to 80K in the final week of December. Weekly active users hovered around 1.1M, ending slightly higher than they began at 1.16M.
HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies showed relative stability in revenue, with a notable increase to $378K during the holiday season. Downloads surged to 111K in the same period. Active users saw a gradual increase, with a closing figure of around 639K.
discovery+ | Stream TV Shows had a revenue high of $217K in the third week of November. Downloads peaked at 72K in late October, while weekly active users saw a high of 233K in the same month, before closing at 165K.
Finally, Paramount+ saw a consistent revenue growth towards the end of the quarter, with a high of $223K. Downloads reached their peak at 109K in the last week of December. Active users also saw an upward trend, ending the quarter with 387K.
